Moving Space, Interactions

  1. hi angie!! love the connections with the ground and the water on this. that being said, i think you should consider (if you haven't already) pushing past the water and not making it a site boundary. maybe you have sal's cool accordion dock pull out onto the middle of the water, and then it connects you to this cool space that looks like it's floating! i don't know. i just really want to hang out here.
the thing that stuck out with me is when you were talking about framing the views. i hope you do some cool studies about what you see from the inside looking out. i'd like to see what cool spaces get framed, and if the architecture is adjusted accordingly.

  2. hi aaangiiie...i know we're all gung ho on design right now, so there's not alot of time for precedent, but have you looked at samuel mockbee's work with the rurual studio? you may have alreayd looked at this as part of your study (sorry, im losing track of time and blog posts), but if not, briefly check it out...i think you will find it useful. I like the idea of using the natural elements as structure howevr some of the triangular forms seem haphazard or random. I like hw the retaining wall at the "back" holds the earth; i want to see this happen more thoughout the site, not just on the edge. i think you are headed in the right direction; the forms just need refinement and authoritative purpose.

  3. Hi, Angie!

I'm seeing a little bit of a disconnect with the pointed elements and the soft flowing background of your blog. Your building seems kind of severe and maybe softening the edges would make it fit more naturally into the surroundings.

PS - thanks to Sal's suggestion, I can post a comment again.
