Angie! This is great! Your studies are really interesting and the things you are making have a nice relationship to the idea and you are seem to developing a project quickly - you zoomed up! So, as is the case with thesis, let's step back (you knew we were going to say that!). Zoom out/Zoom in. Other scales to test? Other methodologies to layer in? Other spatial making to test? Spend a week researching/deepening your understanding of some aspect? Iterations? Can you tell us what you might want to do?
We are still thinking about what you posted here....(sometimes it takes me some time to synthesize, so we come back and make more comments as things come to me - we hope that isn't confusing)....but We really appreciate the careful image documentation that you did for the movement series (above universal truths) - We think it is important that you apply the same documentation method for the site glass study that you did. Remember, everything here is mediated by computer, we can't stop by your desk and take the things apart, so it becomes important that you carefully show us the pieces that make up the layers as well as the final constructed piece. If you don't want to do this documentation work on your blog - you can use the VT....but I think it could work as part of process posts here on the blog. You could definitely do more posts during the week to not just show documentation like I'm talking about, but also your work in process.
Other thoughts this morning - I would hold off on thinking about program for as long as possible. I'm not convinced that studies in movement or ballet in process necessarily lead to a performance arts complex or dance school. There is a possibility that you could take what you learn and apply it to a completely different type of program to create a hybrid or mix that is richer and much more complex.
Secondly, I am still unsure that the area that you pointed out is your site. So let's say that you are interested in this entire area -- and let's do some deep analysis before deciding that this is the right site for what you want to do. And let's hold off on the analysis until closer to the thesis proposal or even AFTER the thesis proposal.
I think that maybe the place to start for this coming week is the Sentence 1, 2 and 3 (not the 9). The first thing I want to do is take out any reference to dancer. Sentence 1: The interplay between movement and the space changes constantly. Sentence 2: The person feels the space and moves within an imaginary boundary. Sentence 3: Good as is. Can we use these to create drawings of the site area that are similar to the movement series that you did of Pavlova's dance during the intensive? What if cars replace her body? What if people moving through the area replace her body? Do the homeless uses spaces in a way that you can document similarly? Do the buildings start to create a stage/frame?
Angie- One thing I wanted to add to what Denise wrote ... I really like how you set up your posts, they are easy to read and have a really good relationship of words to images!

Feel free to call me to discuss!
Interesting opportunities! Let me head down the path of further research on movement and site! Thank you for your insight!
